Airalo pays us the lowest commission of any brand on this site, and it is still the default pick for most Korea trips, for one reason: it is the only eSIM we can link that will tell you which Korean network you are on.

Airalo sells most sizes in three validities. That matters in Korea more than it sounds, because a Seoul and Busan trip is usually seven to ten days and most rivals only sell a 30-day window at 10GB.

Airalo is the only linkable brand that names its Korean network, and the name is SK Telecom with a 2025 asterisk
Saily, GigSky and Yesim publish nothing about which Korean carrier their eSIMs ride. Airalo's Korea page shows SK Telecom. That is the entire reason it sits at the top of this site despite paying us the least.
SK Telecom is the network you would pick if you could. Opensignal's December 2025 South Korea report named it Best Network, with a Coverage Experience score of 9.4 out of 10 against KT's 9.1 and LG U+'s 8.6. It holds about 39% of Korean handset lines. If a brand is going to name one Korean carrier, this is the one you want named.
Now the asterisk. A traveler review updated in July 2026 reported that in 2025 Airalo's Korea eSIM was riding LG U+ on LTE only, no 5G. Airalo's own page today says SK Telecom, and esimdb badges the Jjang plans 5G. So the network appears to have changed between 2025 and 2026, and we would rather tell you both facts than pretend the old report never existed. We have not run our own speed test in Korea; when we do, this paragraph gets replaced with the date and the result.
How much the name matters is the part most guides get wrong. In Korea, less than anywhere else we cover. The government's official 2025 quality evaluation put average 5G downloads at 974 Mbps nationwide and 617 Mbps in rural areas, across all three carriers. Coverage in the cities is near-universal on SKT, KT and LG U+ alike, so in Seoul you are buying on price. Where a published network helps is outside the cities and on the KTX, and the table further down goes place by place.
Asialink sometimes beats Jjang on price for a Korea-only trip, which is strange price both every time
Airalo also sells Asialink, a regional plan that covers Korea, Japan and most of Asia on a single profile. Normally the regional plan carries a premium and you only buy it for a multi-country route. In Korea the premium runs both ways, and one of the anomalies is worth money.

The 7-day unlimited is the one to remember: the regional plan is $3.00 cheaper than the Korea-only plan with the same 3GB-a-day cap. If you are buying a week of unlimited from Airalo for Korea, buy Asialink and get Japan thrown in. The 50GB and 100GB Asialink figures were pulled on September 4, 2026; everything else on this page is from September 7, 2026.
Caveat we cannot resolve: Airalo does not say whether Asialink rides the same SK Telecom network in Korea as Jjang. The Korea page names SKT for the Korea product; the regional page does not name a Korean carrier. If the network is why you are buying Airalo, buy Jjang. For a Korea plus Japan route, we priced the regional plan against two country plans.

Ubigi is in this table because leaving it out would be dishonest: it beats Airalo on 10GB by five dollars and publishes two networks. We earn nothing on Ubigi and cannot link it, and it gets a full review anyway.

Airalo wins 5GB and 50GB outright and loses 1GB, 10GB and 20GB by a dollar or two to a rival that will not name its network. Its Trustpilot 4.1 is the lowest among the linkable brands, on by far the largest review base, 42,273, and a base that size regresses toward the middle in a way Yesim's 2,943 does not.
What the extra dollar buys is the network name and the troubleshooting. Every Airalo error message has been screenshotted and answered on a forum in English. On a first eSIM, standing in Incheon Terminal 1 at midnight, that is worth a dollar.
What SK Telecom means for Airalo from Seoul to the Ulleungdo ferry published maps and traveler reports, not our tests
We have not tested Airalo in Korea ourselves. What follows is Airalo's published network (SK Telecom), the government's 2025 measurements and carrier coverage records, place by place.

The DMZ tours are the one further note: signal is normal at Imjingak and the Third Tunnel, but phones near the line can catch a North Korean network. Leave automatic network selection on and do not accept a roaming prompt you did not expect.
The only Korea eSIM we can link that tells you the network before you pay, on the carrier Opensignal rated best. If your trip is cities and the KTX, buy on price and pick the 5GB.

- Buy on the Airalo website and fix the currency selector to USD first. The site serves Canadian dollars to some connections, and a CAD $19 is not a USD $19.
- Look for "Jjang", Airalo's Korea-only product on SK Telecom. If the listing says "Asialink", that is the regional plan: cheaper for a week of unlimited, silent about the Korean network.
- Install the profile at home on wifi. It does not start counting until it connects in Korea. Label the line "Korea" when the phone asks. No passport, no registration, no counter: that is the whole point of a data-only eSIM, and why most travelers no longer need a 010 number.
- On landing: Airalo line on for data, home line on for calls with data roaming off. If it will not attach, set network selection to manual and pick SKT. Full setup and fixes.
Buy Airalo for Korea if, skip it if the short version

- You want to know the network before you pay. SK Telecom, named on the page, and nobody else we link names anything.
- Your week is 5GB. At $10.00 for seven days it is the cheapest 5GB for Korea we found, linked or not.
- You want 50GB. Airalo is the only linkable brand selling it for Korea, at $49.00.
- You want unlimited with both numbers printed: 3GB a day, then 1 Mbps. Buy the Asialink 7-day for $26 rather than Jjang's $29.
- Your route includes Seoraksan, Jirisan or a mountain hike where a named SKT profile is a comfort a nameless one is not.
Skip it if
- You want 10GB and $1.21 matters: GigSky is $17.79. Ubigi is $14.00 and we earn nothing on it.
- You want 20GB for a month. Yesim is $27.96 against Airalo's $30.00.
- You want the largest unlimited allowance. Saily publishes 5GB a day against Airalo's 3GB.
- You want genuinely uncapped data or a Korean 010 number. The Korean carriers sell no-cap unlimited from about $20 for a week and beat every travel eSIM, at the cost of passport registration after landing.

SK Telecom, shown as the network on Airalo's Korea page as of September 7, 2026, with 5G. A 2025 traveler review reported Airalo's Korea eSIM on LG U+ and LTE only, so this appears to have changed. Airalo is the only brand we link that publishes any Korean network; Saily, GigSky and Yesim do not.
What is Airalo Jjang?
짱 (jjang) is Korean slang for "the best", and Jjang is simply the name of Airalo's Korea-only eSIM, the way its Japan plan is Moshi Moshi. It is not a separate company. If you see "Asialink", that is Airalo's regional Asia plan, which covers Korea too and is sometimes cheaper for unlimited.

Does Airalo have unlimited data for Korea?
Yes, with a published cap: 3GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps until midnight. Seven days is $29.00 on Jjang or $26.00 on the Asialink regional plan with the same cap. For genuinely uncapped data the Korean carriers win: SK Telecom's own tourist eSIM via krsim is $20.70 for seven days with no fair-use policy, after passport registration on arrival.
